Friedrich J. Richter studied communication design at BTK - Berliner Technische Kunstschule with a focus on documentary and reportage photography. His graduation project “The state of statelessness - an installation for the reintroduction of transnational documents” took its starting-point in -the ongoing but still widely ignored peril of stateless people on the background of the so called refugee crisis. Subsequently he embarked on numerous projects ranging from the documentation of Ecuador’s coastline-rebuilding after the 2016 earthquake with the NGO Poste Rojo to an ongoing series of expressive artist portraits. His first book “Blond Book”, an excursion into Berlin’s nightlife debauchery, was published in January 2018.
